This Blue Distinction Center+ for Spine Surgery was also ranked the No. 2 hospital in Pennsylvania for major neurological surgery by CareChex for 2017. Harbaugh, director of the Penn State Neuroscience Institute, was named president of the Society of Neurological Surgeons. The group was founded in 1920, making it the oldest neurosurgical society in the world.
