Nurse involvement in health IT grows

Digitization of healthcare is allowing nurses more opportunities to have roles in health IT, according to a post from the TeleTracking blog.

Health IT jobs for nurses requiring a postgraduate degree are on the rise, according to the 2014 Nursing Informatics Workforce Study. Approximately 40 percent of study respondents noted they work on system optimization or utilization in their jobs, a new designation on the survey this year, according to the post.

According to a HIMSS survey, of nurses in the field of health IT, 81 percent responded they are “satisfied” or “highly satisfied” with their decision to join the field.
