Novation Launches NOVAFOOD to Help Reduce Food Costs in Hospitals

Irving, Texas-based Novation has announced enhancements to its NOVAFOOD program as well as a new Food Standardization program, both with the goal of reducing costs and increasing satisfaction, according to a news release.

The NOVAFOOD program provides more than 30,000 food items and discounts on capital equipment and supplies. Novation covers 100 percent of an organization’s food purchasing needs. The enhancements increase the food offerings to include 106 new contracts across 60 product categories, including cereals, soups, juices and pastries.

The new Food Standardization program will help healthcare organizations lower cost by increasing ordering efficiencies and streamlining inventory management, according to the news release.

Hospitals and health systems can take advantage of the new offerings and potentially save an average of 25 percent on food purchasing, according to the news release.

Novation is the supply chain contracting company for members and affiliates of VHA, UHC, Children’s Hospital Association and Provista.
