New Colorado Veterans Hospital Breaks Ground

Ground breaking has begun for the new Denver Veterans Medical Center in Aurora, Colo., according to a report in the Denver Post.

The new hospital is located at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus and will replace the nearly 60-year-old Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

The new $300 million facility will serve approximately 58,000 veterans in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska and Wyoming.

The hospital is expected to begin treating patients by Jan. 2014.
