Georgia House Reduces Planned Medicaid Cuts From 1% to 0.5%

The Georgia House Appropriations Committee has approved a state budget that lessens the impact of a previously proposed 1 percent reimbursement cut to Medicaid providers, according to a Bloomberg Businessweek report.

The House reduced the cuts to 0.5 percent.

The cuts are part of a plan to close a budget hole created by the loss of nearly $1 billion in federal stimulus money flowing into the state, according to the report.
