Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Erlanger Health has named Barry Large as chair of its Board of Trustees, effective July 1, according to a news release shared with Becker’s. Mr. Large succeeds Sheila Boyington, who is stepping down after nine years as chair.
Mr. Large was appointed to the board in 2023, as part of Erlanger’s efforts to deepen the board’s financial expertise. He is co-founder and managing partner of Dynamo Ventures. He also co-founded Access America, a logistics company that grew to $500 million in revenue before merging with Coyote Logistics, a UPS subsidiary, and served as its CFO.
“Erlanger is Chattanooga’s first hospital and one of the region’s most important organizations, and I’m ready to bring that same energy to help its continued growth well into the future,” Mr. Large said.
Jim Coleman, Erlanger’s president and CEO, credited Ms. Boyington’s tenure with helping build the foundation for the health system’s next stage of growth. Ms. Boyington will remain on the board to support the leadership transition and mentor emerging trustees, according to the release.
