Civista Medical Center to Change Name to Reflect Affiliation

Civista Medical Center in La Plata, Md., will change its name to University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center to reflect its affiliation with Baltimore-based University of Maryland Medical System, its community ties and its growth across the region, according to a Southern Maryland Newspapers report.

Civista Medical Center has been affiliated with the University of Maryland Medical System since 2011.

The new name will take effect July 1, according to the report.
