The Heart Institute at Cincinnati Children’s was the first accredited Pediatric Heart Failure Institute, and the hospital is home to the largest pediatric cardiomyopathy and heart failure program in the country, drawing patients from across the country and around the world. Cincinnati Children’s cardiovascular genetics program is one of a few of its kind, and its adolescent and adult congenital heart disease program was one of the first in the country to manage patients’ heart conditions from childhood to adulthood. The hospital is also home to one of the most well-funded pediatric cardiology programs in the country, receiving more than $28 million in grants from the National Institutes of Health Heart, Lung and Blood Institute this year. Cincinnati Children’s heart care is ranked No. 9 in the country amongst children’s hospitals by U.S. News & World Report.
