Corporate associates located at Christus’ current corporate offices in Houston, San Antonio and other areas will be requested to move to the Dallas area. The move, which will be staggered, will begin in the summer and will be completed by mid-2013.

The consolidation is designed to facilitate coordination within the corporate community and lower costs. The health system expects the move will save more than $60 million over 10 years.

This move may have striking effects on both the Dallas and Houston areas. Relocation to Irving may add roughly 650 jobs in North Texas, according to a Dallas Business Journal report. The move may also cut nearly 700 jobs in Houston, according to a Houston Chronicle report.
