Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial to Keep Labor and Delivery Unit Open

The board of Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis, Ala., has voted to keep the hospital’s labor and delivery unit open despite financial losses, according to a Demopolis Times report.

The hospital is currently losing between $400,000 and $500,000 annually on labor and delivery, according to the report. CEO Mike Marshall and the board are investigating long-term solutions to keep the maternity unit open and more financially secure, according to the report.
