Apple Music names new head as company surpasses 40M subscribers

Oliver Schusser will be promoted to vice president of Apple Music & International Content as the streaming service surpasses 40 million paid subscribers, according to Variety.

Mr. Schusser will relocate from London to Apple’s offices in Culver City and Cupertino, Calif., while continuing to oversee international teams in 38 global offices. Marketing executive Tracey Hannelly will step up to lead the company’s international operations.

Apple Music’s 40 million subscribers are active in 115 countries, and the service is growing 5 percent per month, compared to a 2 percent monthly growth rate for rival streaming service Spotify.
