The registry is designed to monitor the safety and efficacy of a minimally invasive heart therapy for aortic stenosis called transcatheter aortic valve replacement therapy, which was approved by the FDA last month. The registry will capture all clinical data related to TAVR and has the ability to incorporate catheter-based procedures not yet available in the United States.
The TVT Registry will also link to the Social Security Death Master File and CMS’ databases to provide long-term outcomes data.
