AMA Adds Additional Topics to Advocacy Agenda

The American Medical Association has added new items to its advocacy agendas in science, public health and legislation.

The new items include:

•    Clinical application of next-generation genomic sequencing
•    Advocating for Hepatitis C virus education, prevention, screening and treatment
•    Addressing violence in the non-hospital work environment
•    Removing barriers to generic medications
•    Improving vaccination coverage for whooping cough
•    Eliminating obstacles in providing care to Medicare and Medicaid patients
