The hospital will offer joint replacement patients the option to have VERA installed in their home to help with postsurgical physical rehabilitation. VERA includes an animated coach, prescription rehabilitation exercises, a 3-D imaging system for measuring movement and functional assessments.
Therapists from the hospital will be able to remotely monitor patients’ in-home progress through VERA and can discuss results with patients through the system’s telehealth capability.
