The services are offered on the Avera eLongTermCare platform, which supports hospitals, schools and long-term care facilities. Avera eLongTermCare uses audiovisual technology to connect residents with geriatric-trained providers and specialty physicians, such as cardiologists, oncologists or infectious disease specialists.
Through the use of telemedicine, Alverno Health Care Facility hopes to reduce rates of unnecessary emergency room visits and hospitalizations, along with reducing the cost of transporting residents to and from local healthcare facilities.
