Sick students are no longer leaving class for long drives to the nearest hospitals, teachers told the Greensburg Daily News, thanks to the Indiana Rural Health Association — a nonprofit organization that provided a grant for the school’s telehealth clinics. The clinics — which include digital cameras and various computer-enabled medical equipment — allow remote physicians to examine students’ ears, nose, throat and skin to diagnose common illnesses.
The district’s superintendent, Trevor Jones, told the Greensburg Daily News all required student physicals are currently conducted at the clinic, as well.
