6 telehealth award winners, including 1 health system

New York City-based NYC Health + Hospitals was the lone health system winner in the 2023 MedTech Breakthrough Awards honoring the top health technology platforms.

The public health system won in the telehealth category for Best Overall Mobile Health Solution for its partnership with mobile care company DocGo to treat homeless individuals.

"Our Street Health Outreach + Wellness program builds on the great work of street medicine programs across the country, and demonstrates what we can achieve when we harness innovation, technology, and feet-on-the-street energy in healthcare," said Yinan Lan, MD, medical director for homeless health at NYC Health + Hospitals, in a May 3 news release.

The program uses DocGo's patient portal, which offers HIPAA-compliant registration, data storage and telehealth visits with advanced practice practitioners to prescribe medications. Providers also use the platform to electronically report data including the number of individuals they engaged with, hygiene and naloxone kits distributed, and housing and medical referrals.

Here are the other telehealth winners from the awards presented by market intelligence company Tech Breakthrough:

  • Best Telehealth Platform: Cerebral
  • Best Overall Telemedicine Platform: Calibrate
  • Best Overall Telehealth Solution: Bright.md
  • Telehealth Innovation Award: Invisalign
