The deal follows UPS’s August 2015 acquisition of Chicago-based truck brokerage company, Coyote Logistics.
Alan Gershenhom, chief commercial officer of UPS, said the company intends to merge Coyote with Freightex to create a global platform of customers and carriers. The merger will expand UPS’s existing carrier base and allow for higher equipment and staff utilization, according to the news release.
