UnityPoint Health donates supplies to poor foreign countries

West Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health has donated 10,000 pounds of medical equipment and supplies to help impoverished countries, according to a KWWL news report.

UnityPoint facilities collect expired or outdated items to be donated, including bandages, sutures, cotton swabs, wheelchairs, hospital beds and other items.

The donations are part of a partnership with nonprofit company MATTER, based in Minneapolis, that aims to expand healthcare access across the globe.
