Top 10 medical technology acquisitions this year

Johnson & Johnson's acquisition of Auris Health, a maker of robotic diagnostics and surgical devices, tops market researcher EvaluatePharma's list of the 10 largest acquisitions  in medical technology this year.

1. Johnson & Johnson acquires Auris Health ($5.75 billion)

2. Veritas Capital and Elliott Management acquires Athenahealth ($5.70 billion)

3. Colifax acquires DJO Global ($3.15 billion)

4. Fortive acquires the advanced sterilization products business from J&J ($2.8 billion)

5. Fresenius Medical Care acquires Nxstage Medical ($2.00 billion)

6. Montagu Private Equity and Astorg acquires Nemera ($1.15 billion)

7. 3M acquires M*Modal ($1.00 billion)

8. Sonic Healthcare acquires Aurora Diagnostics ($540 million)

9. Boston Scientific acquires Vertiflex ($465 million)

10. Boston Scientific acquires Millipede ($450 million)
