Red Cross’ critical blood shortage drags on

Despite issuing an emergency call for blood donors in early July, the American Red Cross is still facing a critical nationwide shortage, with fewer than three days’ worth of most blood types, according to Indiana news radio station WBIW.

The Red Cross is urging all eligible donors to give blood as soon as possible. 

To help alleviate the shortage, the Red Cross will give those who donate between July 29 and Aug. 29 a $5 Amazon gift card.
