Arm yourself with the information necessary to persuade clinicians to buy in to these initiatives and remind them that your ultimate goal is the same as theirs—improved patient care. This may mean using RFID and other technologies to collect product usage data by clinician, procedure, patient and outcome. Cloud-based analytics and dashboards can also help clinicians understand — and buy into — the reality that product standardization can improve efficiency and, thus, drive down the total cost of delivery without compromising care.
