Stryker said in a Jan. 10 safety warning that some of its Lifepak’s failed to deliver a defibrillator shock after the “shock” button was pressed. The company said the problem is likely caused by oxidation forming inside the button.
Stryker has received complaints about the issue, though it didn’t say how many. Most of the problems were discovered before the defibrillators were used on patients, the company said.
Stryker is telling consumers to contact the company for a replacement keypad, but to keep using the defibrillator as normal until the keypad is repaired.
