Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine and Renton, Wash.-based Providence are partnering with Medline to develop an artificial intelligence-powered supply chain tool.
The tool, Mpower, will serve as an “AI digital control tower” to streamline inventory management and provide predictive insights. It is being developed using Microsoft 365 and Azure AI technology.
Northwestern and Providence are helping design the tool and will pilot it across their organizations to test its real-world performance.
“Legacy linear supply chains, once optimized for cost and stability, need to be replaced with supply chain ecosystems that incorporate event readiness, efficient responsiveness and effective recovery,” Dave Walker, senior vice president and chief supply chain officer at Providence, said in a Sept. 15 news release. “Our partnership with Medline and Microsoft will forge the next level of supply chain resilience capability.”
