Medline implements solar power at California facility: 4 things to know

Medline installed a solar power system at its facility in Rialto, Calif., the company announced April 20.

Here are four things to know.

1. The project represents the second facility in North America Medline outfitted with solar capabilities.

2. The 1.1 megawatt system derives power from more than 3,152 rooftop solar panels. Medline expects the solar installation to generate power equivalent to 75 percent of the facility’s energy usage.

3. Medline tapped EnterSolar, a national developer of solar programs, to implement and maintain the solar program.

4. The initiative comes one year after Medline implemented its first North American solar system at its Tracy, Calif.-based distribution center.
