CEO Steven Zeldes and COO Mark Bakst formed the Lakewood, N.J.-based online entity in 2013 after identifying the lack of affordable online medical supplies available for purchase by private paying, homebound patients.
The website’s target audience centers on those who don’t have health insurance or struggle to get coverage of specific equipment from the insurance.
AvaCare Medical offers a wide variety of medical equipment and supplies sourced from leading distributors and manufacturers like Medline, Drive and McKesson.
“The industry is exploding as the large baby boomer population gets older and more people are electing to remain at home as they age,” said Mr. Zeldes. “The market is growing and we’re excited to be part of it.”
