HealthTrust Becomes Supporting Member of Healthier Hospitals Initiative

Brentwood, Tenn.-based HealthTrust is now a supporting member of the Healthier Hospitals Initiative, a collaboration of healthcare organizations pushing the industry to become more environmentally sustainable, according to a HealthTrust news release.

HHI, launched in 2010 by 12 hospital systems, facilitates a sector-wide approach that emphasizes how strategies in designing, building and operating hospitals can help improve patient safety and workplace safety, be environmentally friendly and still save money.

HealthTrust has historically worked on eco-friendly initiatives, including environmentally preferable purchasing, waste management, clean energy and chemical management.
