Global Medical Device Packaging Market to Reach $26B by 2017

The global medical device packaging market is expected to hit $25.7 billion by 2017, growing at an annual compound growth rate of 5.9 percent, according to an RnR Market Research report.

The report says the U.S. will remain the largest market for device packaging. Containers like blister packs and clamshell packs will account for 80 percent of the packaging demand, while the demand for bags and boxes will decrease.

Tamper-evident features and other security innovations will continue to grow in demand following stricter government regulations and industry standards, according to the report.
