Gavis Pharma earns FDA approval for generic painkiller

Somerset, N.J.-based Gavis Pharmaceuticals — a subsidiary of Mumbai-based Lupin Limited — recently earned approval from the Food and Drug Administration for its hydrocodone bitartrate and acetaminophen tablets.

The tablets are intended to relieve moderate to moderately severe pain.

The FDA approved the painkiller as a generic equivalent of Mikart’s hydrocodone bitartrate and acetaminophen tablets.
