FDA approves Baxter’s clindamycin injection in saline

The Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday approved Baxter International’s clindamycin injection in saline.

Clindamycin is a common antibiotic used to treat serious infections when penicillin may not be used.

The injection, available in three different formulas, offers physicians an alternative for patients who cannot receive the typical clindamycin injection in dextrose.
