FDA OKs Claret Medical's stroke prevention device

The Food and Drug Administration on Monday granted market clearance to Claret Medical's Sentinel Cerebral Protection System.

The device helps prevent strokes during transcatheter aortic valve replacements by capturing and removing debris dislodged in the blood before it reaches the brain.

Claret Medical will launch the devices, effective immediately, in healthcare facilities across the country designated as TAVR centers of excellence.
