As a result, a combined 182 employees will lose their jobs. Arriva Medical is shuttering a Coral Springs, Fla.-based plant and terminating 142 positions. American Medical Supplies is closing its Boca Raton, Fla.-based store and laying off 40 workers. The job cuts, which span management positions to customer service representatives, will begin Dec. 31.
The companies, which provide diabetic Medicare members testing equipment and supplies, cited financial hardship as the reason for the closures. In addition, Arriva’s Medicare billing number was revoked in October 2016, according to the report.
