Regional Medical Center at Memphis Takes on New Name

Regional Medical Center at Memphis (Tenn.) and its affiliated entities are taking on a new name — Regional One Health — according to a Memphis Business Journal report.

The new name will include the acute-care hospital, along with its extended care hospital, rehabilitation hospital, outpatient surgery center, primary care network and outpatient center.

The hospital network's parent, Shelby County Health Care, adopted the Regional Medical Center name in 1983 when the organization was a standalone acute-care hospital. Over the years, the organization has grown but continued to identify itself under the hospital name. The new name is meant to better unify the services, Regional One Health CEO Reginald W. Coopwood said in the report.
