Iowa Health to Become UnityPoint Health

Des Moines-based Iowa Health System today announced it will change its name to UnityPoint Health, effective immediately.

UnityPoint Health logoThe new name is intended to better reflect the health system's transition to patient-centered, coordinated care. The change comes a little more than a year after the state-wide system expanded into Illinois with the acquisition of Quincy (Ill.) Medical Group.

"Over the years, we've developed our team-based approach and expanded our services to become a point of unity for patient care," says Bill Leaver, CEO of UnityPoint Health. "Our new brand is an expression of our promise to patients. We will work together as an organization to transform the previous care silos into a full continuum of care. We want to meet the health needs of people before they become patients in addition to serving patient needs in a timely, convenient and coordinated manner."

As part of the rebranding, Iowa Health Physicians & Clinics will become UnityPoint Clinic and Iowa Health Home Care will become UnityPoint at Home. There will be no change in management, structure or staff involved in this brand change.

UnityPoint includes 29 hospitals and 280 physician clinics.
