Franciscan Health Plans to Expand Presence to Compete With MultiCare

Franciscan Health System in Tacoma, Wash., plans to expand into Auburn, Wash., opening a primary- and specialty-care facility in the community, according to a News Tribune report.

The expansion is part of the system's efforts to compete with MultiCare Health System, also based in Tacoma, which acquired Auburn Regional Medical Center last year.

Franciscan plans to lease 21,000-square-feet of a new medical building in Auburn.

The facility, which will be called Franciscan Medical Pavilion–Auburn, is slated to open in November.
