11 Hospitals, Health Systems That Recently Changed Names, Brands

Here is a list of 11 hospitals and health systems that in the past month have changed or announced plans to change their name, brand or both, beginning with the most recent announcement.

1. Goodall Hospital to Change Name Under Merger
Goodall Hospital in Sanford, Maine, will change its name when it merges with 150-bed Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford to form Southern Maine Health Care.

2. 3 Via Christi Hospitals Revert to Original Names
Wichita, Kan.-based Via Christi Health is changing three of its hospitals' names back to the originals.

3. Sierra Nevada Memorial's New Name Tightens Ties With Dignity Health
Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley, Calif., changed its name to Dignity Health Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital to more clearly reflect its affiliation with the San Francisco-based system.

4. Columbus Regional Healthcare System Launches New Brand
Columbus (Ga.) Regional Healthcare System launched a new brand, including a new name, logo and tagline.

5. Miles Memorial, St. Andrews Hospitals to Change Names Upon Merger
Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta, Maine, and St. Andrews Hospital in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, will change names when they merge Oct. 1.

6. Proctor Hospital Agrees to Merge With UnityPoint Health-Methodist
Proctor Hospital, in Peoria, Ill., would be renamed UnityPoint Health-Proctor under a merger with UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria. The organizations signed an initial affiliation agreement.

7. Emory Healthcare Launches New Brand
Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare launched a new brand, including a tagline, new logo and advertisements.

8. Spectrum Health, Memorial Medical Center Finalize Affiliation
Memorial Medical Center in Ludington, Mich., will become Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital as part of its affiliation with Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Mich.

9. Gouverneur Hospital to Continue E.J. Noble Operations After Dissolution
Under an agreement with Canton-Potsdam Hospital in Potsdam, N.Y., Gouverneur, N.Y.-based E.J. Noble Hospital will dissolve and be reborn as Gouverneur Hospital.

10. Intermountain's Primary Children's Medical Center to Change Name
Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, part of Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare, will change its name to Primary Children's Hospital Oct. 1.

11. Mitchell County Regional Health Center Unveils New Logo
Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa, designed a new logo as part of a rebranding campaign.
