The hospitals will officially merge in January after having operated under parent company SMHC, the York County member of Portland-based MaineHealth, for more than a year, according to the report.
Under the merger, 58-bed Goodall Hospital will become Southern Maine Health Care, Sanford Campus. The Goodall Medical Office Building will retain its name in honor of the hospital’s history, as the Goodall family created the hospital in 1928.
