Salim Saiyed, MD. Chief Medical Information Officer of CaroMont Health Plan (Gastonia, N.C.). Dr. Saiyed began his tenure as chief medical information officer of CaroMont Health Plan in 2014. He was the leading force behind CaroMont’s $70 million enterprisewide Epic EHR implementation, which replaced five separate EHR systems. Dr. Saiyed’s efforts have saved the health system more than $2.5 million annually. In addition, Dr. Saiyed formed an academic chapter of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
