Farzana Rashid Hossain, MD. Gastroenterologist at Penn Medicine (Philadelphia). A gastroenterologist by training, Dr. Hossain is building a name for herself as a female leader in her community. In August 2016, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney appointed her to the first Philadelphia Commission for Women, tasked with building relationships to help create equal opportunities for women in all levels of the city’s workforce. The Philadelphia Business Journal honored her with the Women of Distinction Award in 2016; Penn Medicine named her one of its Health Care Heroes in 2015; and Castle Connolly Medical named her a top doctor in 2016 and 2017.
