Baligh Yehia, MD. Deputy Under Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (Washington, D.C.). In addition to helping the VA transition toward more personalized care models, Dr. Yehia oversees the VA’s Clinically Integrated Network., which has more than 475,000 federal, academic and private partners who provide care to more than 2 million patients each year. During Dr. Yehia’s tenure, access to private care increased 17 percent resulting in more than 47.3 million appointments. Dr. Yehia served as the senior advisor to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Bob McDonald from 2014 to 2015 and founded and directed the Penn Medicine Program for LGBT Health from 2013 to 2016.
