Alastair Bell, MD. COO of Boston Medical Center. Prior to his 2012 appointment as COO of Boston Medical Center, Dr. Bell, 39, worked for five years with McKinsey & Company, a management consulting firm, where he was a central member of the team that worked with BMC to develop its strategic plan. He first joined BMC as vice president for strategy and implementation before becoming senior vice president for operations and strategy and eventually COO. During his time in the medical center’s administration, the facility has gone through a $100 million financial turnaround. Dr. Bell received his medical degree from the University of Oxford in England and an MBA from Harvard Business School. In 2014, he was named one of the Boston Business Journal‘s 40-Under-40.
