Thompson Health (Canandaigua, N.Y.). Employing roughly 1,500 associates, Thompson Health is an affiliate of the University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center. Thompson was named a “Leader in LGBT Healthcare Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and a Platinum level Fit-Friendly Worksite by the American Heart Association in 2016. Thompson offers tuition assistance up to $4,000, on-site exercise classes, biometric screenings and opportunities for professional development. Employees can also participate in the organization’s “self-care initiative” in which an employee chooses one self-care tip to focus on during “stretch breaks.” Additionally, the hospital added adult de-stressing coloring sessions during lunchtime.
