More than a quarter of American adults say they’re too stressed to properly function most days, according to a recent poll from the American Psychological Association.

On March 14, Newsweek sorted U.S. states by their stress levels using a recent study from Komowa Wellness, a health and wellness brand. The company analyzed data from federal sources including the Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics and CDC to compare each state across 16 measures of stress. Indicators included hours worked, commute times, credit card debt, income, utility costs, divorce rates, child care costs, healthcare costs, physical health and mental health.

Residents in these states experience the highest and lowest levels of stress, per the analysis:

Most stressed:

1. Tennessee

2. Alabama

3. Oklahoma

4. Louisiana

5. Nevada

Least stressed:

1. North Dakota

2. Utah

3. Iowa

4. Nebraska

5. Minnesota
