Cost-conscious patients in Chicago should turn to Amita Health Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, Ill., or Chicago-based Saint Anthony Hospital, which earned best value designations from Amino.

Here are the top five best value hospitals in the Chicago metropolitan area, meaning they earned a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade of A and an Amino Cost Rating of two dollar signs or less based on facility's relative costliness per service. All hospitals are based in Chicago unless otherwise noted.
