Twenty-seven health systems and hospitals were recognized by Practice Greenhealth for environmental excellence in 2026.

Practice Greenhealth’s Environmental Excellence Awards are the nation’s top program for environmental performance in the healthcare sector. The program was launched in 2002 and recognizes healthcare facilities and health systems for their commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability achievements. 

Greenhealth awards multiple levels of excellence. The GreenHealth Top Health System Award is given to hospitals in the top 5% of the highest-scoring and highest-performing applicants. The Top 25 Environmental Excellence Awards are given to hospitals that are leading the industry in all-around sustainability performance, demonstrating comprehensive programs and making sustainability as part of its culture.
