20 top critical access hospitals for quality | 2023

The National Rural Health Association honored 20 critical access hospitals with the Best Practice in Quality recognition.

The organization examined data from the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX to select hospitals for the recognition. The hospitals were evaluated across rural-relevant Hospital Compare Process of Care measures and ranked against peers nationally.

The 20 recipients are:

1. Baptist Memorial Hospital – Attala (Kosciusko, Miss.)
2. Benefis Teton Medical Center (Choteau, Mont.)
3. Clay County Hospital and Medical Clinics (Flora, Ill.)
4. Coffey County Hospital (Burlington, Kan.)
5. Cox Barton County Hospital (Lamar, Mo.)
6. Jefferson County Hospital (Waurika, Okla.)
7. Livingston Hospital (Salem, Ky.)
8. Mercy Hospital Booneville (Booneville, Ark.)
9. Mercy Hospital Kingfisher (Kingfisher, Okla.)
10. Mercy Hospital Logan County (Guthrie, Okla.)
11. Mercy Hospital Tishomingo (Tishomingo, Okla.)
12. Mercy Hospital Waldron (Waldron, Ark.)
13. Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center (Grantsville, W.Va.)
14. Molokai General Hospital (Kaunakakai, Hawaii)
15. Moore County Hospital District (Dumas, Texas)
16. Mountrail County Medical Center (Stanley, N.D.)
17. Northern Light CA Dean Hospital (Greenville, Maine)
18. Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital (Kapaa, Hawaii)
19. South Georgia Medical Center Lanier Campus (Lakeland, Ga.)
20. Trousdale Medical Center (Hartsville, Tenn.)
