Twelve companies working on healthcare initiatives made Fortune's 2019 list of firms that are changing the world.

For its "Change the World" list, Fortune examined how a company's business strategy betters society. Fortune writers evaluated and ranked companies on four factors: measurable social impact, business results, degree of innovation and corporate integration.
