Americans are spending the most for health insurance in Vermont and the least in New Hampshire, according to a new analysis from WalletHub.
The personal finance website released its “States Where People Spend the Most & Least on Health Insurance” ranking on July 10. The ranking compares the premiums of a silver health insurance plan — which comes with a moderate deductible and relatively low premiums — across all 50 states.
WalletHub adjusted these figures to the median monthly income in each state, then used the results to determine state rankings. The data comes from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Kaiser Family Foundation, collected as of June 12.
