Providers that apply and become certified application counselor organizations will help people understand the insurance exchanges and assist them in applying for coverage and enrolling in health plans.
CAC organizations must engage in services that position them to help people with health coverage issues, have experience providing social services to the community and have processes in place to screen staff members to ensure consumer information is protected.
CMS is holding three web-based information sessions on July 31, Aug. 5 and Aug. 7 on becoming a CAC organization.
