UC Health's West Chester Hospital receives 'A' in patient safety

West Chester (Ohio) Hospital recently earned an "A" rating in patient safety from The Leapfrog Group.

"The safety of our patients is our top priority at West Chester Hospital. We are proud that our vigilant efforts to provide a safe environment for our patients have been once again recognized by the Leapfrog Group," said Tom Daskalakis, interim chief administrative officer for WCH, in a release.

At WCH teams of experts across multiple disciplines work diligently to reduce the occurrence of adverse events like falls and infections. The teams create rules and policies and closely monitor activity within the hospital to ensure optimal levels of patient safety.

Leapfrog based hospital scores on 28 measures, including falls, trauma, central line-associated bloodstream infections, pressure ulcers, surgical safety and hand hygiene.
